New Tan Tan in Edmonton

as far as I'm concerned it's the best place in Edmonton for Dim Sum

It’s a decent place for dim sum if you’ve had dim sum a couple times. But if you’ve been to enough places to know what you like, this might not be the place to go. Not saying it’s the worse dim sum place. But there is definitely better. It’s not the busiest place and the service reflects that as well. The food is good but not great. If you’ve never tried dim sum before and want to ease into it then here’s a good starter place.

Very good dimsung here aswell as the owner is extremely nice and always smiling. It's a very welcoming and comfy place to eat

My favourite dim sum place. Been coming here since I was a kid. The owner is very friendly and we will continue to eat here as long as we can! The ginger beef balls and the curry squid are my favourites.

I eat in this nice place often! This is my favorite restaurant to grab a bite. I visit this place frequently. The meals are excellent, the staff members are helpful and the rates are good. I enjoy being in this restaurant to have a decent dinner.

I used to go to New Tan Tan for dim sum years ago and it was always good. Now, after moving back to Edmonton, we have ordered take out in the evening a few times. The portions are generous and the dishes we ordered were tasty North American Chinese. The staff are super-friendly and we sat and chatted while I waited for the order to be finished. Great place!

We just ordered dinner from this restaurant. The dishes, came with very little meat, and lots of vegetables which was sad to see as we ordered meat dishes and not a vegetarian dish, plus we spent $75.00. The food came in styrofoam and all the sauce from the various dished spilled in the plastic take out bags. Waste of money, our time, and the food was not good. Next time we will order from BLUE WILLOW.

Good Dim Sum, but limited roll-out selections as the restaurant was not very busy. You could order what you wanted, though, so we got a good lunch of our favourites.

Probably one of the worse Chinese restaurant in downtown Edmonton.Food doesn't taste fresh and pricey for the amount of food served.

Really good food. Had a bunch of dim sum dishes and they were all excellent. Ate spring rolls, bbq beef, pork buns, sticky rice and more. Once you go a few times, the staff remember you, great service. If you want western style Chinese food, they do have a menu with combo dishes to order from to. Very reasonably priced too.

We absolutely love this restaurant! Been coming here for 19 years & the owner Maria is very interactive with the customers. Staff is great and remembers everyone, very pleasant atmosphere & highly recommend the best Dim Sum around. If you love seafood, this is the place for you, family, and friends.

Love the fresh dim sum here - often have to order from the menu and it comes out piping hot and delicious. Staff are so friendly.

I have not been here for a few years, but it was a family go to place for years before that. The food was nothing like I remeber. The flavours and preparation were not good. I will not be back.

The dim sum wasn't fresh at allChicken feet tasted moldy Chasiu Bao sticky rice Shao mai was all frozen and tasted like whatever else was in the freezerChao fun was soggy and nasty, I'm actually not even sure what they did to it Ate maybe a 10th of the food and threw the rest out

Dont bother they are a ripoff. If you order a combo dinner they only give half of one persons meal

My favourite dim sum restaurant in the city! The food is always amazing and the staff is very friendly. They already remember me when I come in, and the server always makes conversation with us. It's a wonderful experience. They're very on top of service and it's a reasonable price.

My family loves this place! We have been going here since i was probably 10. The deep fried shrimp are my fave.

Their beef chow fan is a true gem. The peppy brown sauce is so rich and flavourful. I normally have a couple of go-to places, but I'll have to add this one to my list.

Great experience sharing a meal with my family. Unfortunately, my 1st time trying chicken feet. Soggy and gamey. We sent the first order back and the 2nd order was not as soggy but gamey. Other than that everything else was tasty!

We had some friends come in for a concert. One of them used to work at Canada place conveniently located across from the New Tan Tan and went there often for dim sum. We also frequent the restaurant for dim sum on the weekends it is always our first choice. So when they called and asked if we would like to meet them at the New Tan Tan we happily said yes.We had so many items from the menu from sticky rice to sumai to spring rolls, even both steamed and baked Bbq pork buns. As we had come at night, all of the dim sum was served fresh and hot. Each item was delicious and we will always go back anytime they or anyone would like to go for dim sum. Hey, do you want to go for dim sum?

Just finished their wonderful food for lunch. I had the Veggie Chow Mein, Ginger Beef, Chicken and Veggie and Lemon Chicken and it was delicious! Well done to the staff of New Tan Tan. I will definitely be a returning customer.
